The clients wanted “a place of refuge” on weekends at first, and somewhere to retire to in the future. It was important that the house be designed around clean, modern lines, be as energy efficient and sustainable as possible, sit harmoniously with the adjacent bushland, and be a welcoming place for extended family and friends.
